Summer Recap Part 2 – Yellowstone

Without a doubt, Yellowstone is another world. Geysers shooting water up as high as 100 feet dot the landscape. Hot springs with their vivid colors boil and gurgle. Mud pots bubble much to the delight of all those who pass. The smells elicited from each of these hydrothermal features fill the air with their unique sulfuric aroma. There is no place in the world like Yellowstone. Everyone needs to pay a visit to the world’s most famous National Park.

However, there is so much more than just the famous geysers and hot springs. The most picturesque place that I have ever photographed is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The Lower Falls from Artist Point is a sight to behold. Yellowstone Lake, with the snow capped mountains in the background, is absolutely breathtaking. Bison and elk are frequently seen along park roads. Around every corner is a treasure waiting to be photographed. This crown jewel of the American West is more incredible than your wildest dreams can imagine.

After visiting Glacier National Park, I journeyed down to Yellowstone. My excitement for being there was immeasurable. I was giddy when gazing into the Canyon. I laughed with childlike joy when listening to the amusing sounds of the mud pots. When I walked out of Old Faithful Inn that first morning and was greeted by an erupting Old Faithful, I was nearly overwhelmed by emotion. Yellowstone deserves all of the hype that it has been given over the years. America’s first National Park is a must see
